Though not the first to enter the embedded computing market, Portwell embarked on this business with richer knowledge on market features and more accumulated experience from customer interactions. Upon Portwell Product Marketing strategy on Embedded Computing solutions, here is what we insist in:

Adoption of low-power CPU
With CPU embedded, this thoughtful design exempts customers from CPU acquisition and delivers higher system stability. The use of heat sink, rather than fan, decreases the system failure possibility. Furthermore, featuring low power consumption, the CPU calls for less power source.

CompactFlash socket support The popularity of digital cameras sparkle the CF type memory cards, accelerating their enhancement. Not only is the capacity substantially enlarged, but also the price is getting down. Along with their high availability, customers are offered with the advantages of cost- and time-saving solutions with higher performance when creating the system.
Functioning as the storage devices for operation system or application program, they economize the hard disk capacity and reduce the acquisition cost and time. No wonder, they are the best matches for embedded applications.

On-board 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet support
Except stand-alone embedded applications, computing devices barely won't ask for on-board Ethernet for future expansion and upgrade. We also embed this function to suffice our customers.

Single voltage operation design
Responding to our customer feedback, after years of intercommunication with our customers, we decided to have single power operation design. Having all components powered from single source, the cost and volume of power supply is essentially decreased.

Dual USB ports support
Drifting in the market for 2-3 years, USB port is gradually recognized. Considering its superiority in performance and volume over the traditional COM port, it is extensively adopted in embedded applications. Besides acting as interfaces for keyboard and mouse, dual USB ports can be utilized for data transference and Internet connection.

Versatile Form Factors

For embedded boards, Portwell PEB series comes in different form factors, including PC/104, 3.5" ESB, 5.25" EBX, Half-sized SBC, embATX, Micro ATX, etc. (please refer to PEB Form Factor), allowing you to quickly adapt to changing market demands.

As for embedded platforms, we have embedded chassis and Panel PC, Open-frame Panel PC, Panel Workstation and LCD kits to give you the most versatility. Portwell Embedded Peripheral/Accessory series comprises KVM, Panel Display, Riser Card, Backplane, SSD and a selection of Arms. They will be constantly supplemented in terms of customer demands.

OS ready platform
Exploiting our solid specialty in hardware design and integration, Portwell extends our product reach to OS enabled system platforms. For example, our flat Panel PC solutions integrate all-in-one CPU boards, high-quality LCD modules and user-friendly touch screens as full-functioned systems that are well suited for many applications. In expectation to answer specific BIOS requirements, Portwell also provides BIOS programming and customization services. Through strategic alliance, we also offer considerable support for Embedded Linux, Microsoft Windows Embedded and other real-time OS. Portwell embedded OS ready products save our EC customers a lot of time and efforts and enable them to focus on their own competencies.
