FREMONT, CALIF. —September 21, 2010 —American Portwell Technology, Inc., (http://www.portwell.com) a wholly owned subsidiary of Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the embedded computing market and an Associate member of the Intel Embedded Alliance, announces WADE-8075 and WADE-8076, the latest additions to its growing family of Mini-ITX embedded system boards.
Built with Intel’s latest ICH8M chipset, WADE-8075 and WADE-8076 take advantage of the Intel Atom single and dual-core processors.
This is an Intel Atom D525 dual-core 1.8GHz processor-based Mini-ITX embedded system board with built-in DC 12V input. Two 204-pin SODIMMs support single-channel DDR3 memory up to 4GB. WADE-8075 includes VGA and 24-bit LVDS dual display and dual Gigabyte Ethernet, one expansion PCI-E slot, one PCI slot and one Mini PCI socket with USB and PCI-E x1 signal. MIO includes three RS-232 ports and one RS-232/422/485 port.
Powered by an Intel Atom N455 single-core 1.67GHz processor, this Mini-ITX board includes an 18-bit LVDS display. Its configuration matches WADE-8075 in all other aspects.
Available now, WADE-8075 and WADE-8076’s ability to drive two displays simultaneously makes them particularly suitable for lottery and gaming applications. They are also ideal for applications such as point-of-sale (POS), medical, digital signage, kiosks and surveillance security monitoring.
Improved performance, on-board power management and greater expansion
According to Robert Feng, American Portwell Technology’s product marketing manager, the company has packed the new WADE-8075 and WADE-8076 full of essential features that will help OEMs and ODMs bring extra benefits to their customers. “For example,” says Feng, “WADE-8076 utilizes the power of Intel’s Atom D525, which is the fastest dual-core Atom processor and provides computing performance improvement over previous Atom processors, plus low power consumption and fanless system flexibility. But we didn’t stop there,” Feng adds. “We built-in DC 12V input with an on-board power management design for cost savings and easier integration. Plus support for 64-bit operating systems and software to provide the enhanced performance required by many Microsoft® Windows® applications.”
Greater expansion and long product life cycle
Frank Shen, American Portwell Technology’s product marketing director points out that the new WADE-8075 and WADE-8076 Mini-ITX embedded system boards provides customers with greater expansion availability through the PCI, PCI-E x1 and Mini PCIe slots. In fact,” Shen adds, “the Mini PCIe slot with USB and PCI-E x1 signals presents customers with the flexibility to use a variety of Mini PCIe modules such as Wi-Fi, TV Tuner, video capture and 3.5G.”
“Our customers not only benefit from American Portwell’s ability to consistently provide the most up-to-date technology and features,” Shen confirms, “but they also gain peace of mind from the long life cycle support inherent with every Portwell product.”
