New PQ7-M101G features include upgraded memory and SATA interface

FREMONT, CALIF.—June 30, 2009—American Portwell Technology, Inc., (http://www.portwell.com) a wholly owned subsidiary of Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the embedded computing market and a member of the Intel® Embedded and Communications Alliance (Intel ECA), announces PQ7-M101G, an upgraded Intel® Atom™ based Qseven module with more integrated features such as the SATA interface and up to 1 GB system memory. At a mere 70mm x 70mm (2.75˝ x 2.75˝), the ultra compact PQ7-M101G is the ideal solution for a range of low-power systems and handheld mobile devices in applications such as medical healthcare, industrial control, gaming, portable device and COTS military markets.

Same compact footprint with revolutionary upgrades\

“Like its predecessor, the PQ7-M100G, Portwell’s new PQ7-M101G continues to use Intel Atom processor Z510/Z530 and System Controller Hub (SCH) US15W,” explains Jimmy Chang, product marketing manager, American Portwell Technology. “It includes the same great feature set of dual independent display by LVDS/SDVO; one Gigabit Ethernet; eight USB ports; and expansion of one SDVO, one PCI-E x1, LPC interface and high definition audio interface. Not only does it include enriched features such as SATA interface and the upgrade option of system memory of up to 1GB (512MB on PQ7-M100G), but its functions can also be further expanded with Portwell’s PQ7-C200 developer Mini-ITX form factor carrier board,” Chang explains. “Equipped with features like these, the PQ7-M101G surely makes any design engineering job easier and shortens time to market,” he confirms.

Customer-oriented philosophy

“As a leading embedded computing solutions provider, Portwell is committed to meeting customers’ requirements and providing products and solutions that meet or exceed its customers’ needs,” says Frank Shen, American Portwell Technology’s product marketing director.

“Adding the PQ7-M101G to our Qseven portfolio, Portwell benefits its customers not only with the rich product features embedded in an ultra compact platform, but also the ready availability of these off-the-shelf products,” Shen acknowledges. “Again and again, Portwell continues to make great efforts on implementing its customer-oriented philosophy to the fullest extent on product design and development, quality management and quality product offerings.”
