WADE-8067 Delivers Excellent Display Quality via Multiple Interface

WADE-8067 Press Release

FREMONT, CALIF. -- July 15, 2008 -- American Portwell Technology, Inc., a member of the Intel Embedded and Communications Alliance (Intel ECA), has developed a new motherboard with the latest Intel® platform for embedded applications. Portwell’s WADE-8067 (Mini-ITX form factor), built with the 45nm Intel Core™2 Duo processor T9400 and Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset, provides the best solution for multiple applications such as POS, DVR, Mobile Kiosk, Lottery, Gaming and Digital Signage.

Base on the new Intel® solution for embedded applications, the WADE-8067 is specifically designed to support the enriched display interfaces required by various multimedia devices. The dual display can be implemented by VGA, DVI, LVDS, TV-Out and HDMI connectors. A third display function can easily be activated via a PCI-Express expansion graphic card.

“As an innovator and provider of a wide-range non-PC platforms, we realize that design engineers within the industrial market are constantly seeking high-performance devices to display their distinctive creations,” says Edgar Chang, president of Portwell, Inc. “Current standard solutions can’t be guaranteed to protect either content privacy or operation security. So customers need a solution with an HDMI interface, built-in Intel® Trusted Platform Module (Intel TPM) and versatile IO ports to maximize today’s applications. Portwell’s WADE-8067 -- based on the latest embedded platform from Intel -- is the best solution to fulfill such a requirement.” explains Chang.

“Portwell is a known industrial developer with embedded architecture experience,” says Joe Jensen, general manager, Intel® Embedded Computing Division.  “Portwell provides industrial embedded motherboards, such as the WADE-8067, that utilize the performance and features of the latest Intel® low-power embedded platform to meet the requirements of multiple industrial applications.”

In addition to its multiple-display feature, the WADE-8067 provides two SO-DIMMs that can support dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM up to 4GB. It also includes four SATA, one RS-232 port, one RS232/422/485 port, high-definition audio codec, six USB2.0 ports and one PCI-Express x4 slot.
